None. Well, perhaps to be kinder to others and myself. Same as every year

Every year on New Years Day I make a bean soup of some sort. A tradition that carried over from my chlld hood. A little bit crazy because I'm really not all that fond of bean soup, and no one else is either, but I make it and it always smells so good.

This year the soup will be white bean and bacon.

While this soup cooks I always make what I call my to do list for the coming year. I don't like to say they are resolutions because that puts too much pressure on. It is a to do list. The stuff gets done or it doesn't no real pressure.

I haven't started the list yet but there are a couple of things that I know I will include - Organize the garage, Plan some new flowerbeds before spring arrives, Figure out how to sell my art efficiently, bring my camera gear out of hibernation,

That's a start - I make a really long list of things, important and not necessary at all. It is sort of a master list for the year. When I run out of ideas of what to do or projects to start I have my list.

Happy New Year!

When I was just a young kind, the idea of making New Year resolutions was first explained to me, I made the only one I ever made, and I have stuck to it without fail.

My resolution was to never make New Year resolutions.

I don't wait till new years, those that do will never keep it (since they procrastinated to wait till then anyway). If I need to change i do it now.

Create more art. (I added two more pieces to my gallery this morning, although I guess I'm not allowed to show them here) and not let frauds and self-doubt discourage me. Move somewhere else (so tired of the Midwest). A friend of mine got rid of nearly everything he owned and lived in his van and travelled around, which sounds pretty sweet. Enjoy my restored health.

A goal more than a resolution: spend less time on forums and social media and more time traveling and creating.

I stopped making New Years Resolutions a long time ago. They don't work lol. I just do what I need to do every year and so far that's working out better than making a NY resolution. Whatever will be will be!

Like other, no resolutions, but a to do list:

2 high end coffee table books ( in the making)

Brick and mortar galley exhibitions ( in the making)

Promote my limited edition prints

Finally start printing salt/silver prints on watercolor paper and sell those as limited editions as well ( rolled over from last year)

Photography road trip

Sell some redundant equipment.

Buy an 8 x 10 camera ( if financially feasible)

Go out for dinner less and cook at home more

Making one now.....get over my long time desire to be a seldom seen urban hermit crazy gardner type growing as much food and flowers as I possibly can (while working way too many hours for way too many years at poverty wages) while since I was finally able to purchase long wanted paints and dropping some work hours finally doing my any 2 year old could do that Happy Colors mistint paintings for my own uplift and enjoyment and a little sales........and accept the fact that after being the target of what I believe will go down in history as simultaneously the most bizarre white supremacist hate crime and abuse of city government authority in American history (including literally the years long declaration that because a "higher class " wealthy white landlord who lives in another town and can regularly be heard outside screaming and cussing at black tenants asking for repairs or maintainance or rodent control he don't wanta do or pay for complained to city that he doesn't like looking at tomatoes or blueberries or even flowers in my yard when he drives into the town I live in and instead of telling him if you don't like looking at tomatoes don't look at his tomatoes the city told him and me that because he is superior and I am inferior in the city government's eyes the city was declaring that it is illegal for me to grow blueberries blackberries raspberries tomatoes peppers even flowers in my own yard (you think those tomatoes and blueberries and raspberries and flowers are your food and future food and faith and hope that will will have more food in future years...well tlcity people say of course they are legal in some peoples yards but we officially declare them illegal debris in your yard..........you say you want to keep your religious artwork you think you have some legal rights to have we in the city say illegal debris........ you say you actually think you have the right to paint artwork and a mural on the side of your garage we say all that paint and brushes and artwork are all illegal debris and if you attempt to keep any of that paint or brushes you will be arrested.....I'll happily arrest you right now and let you spend the night in jail if you want to keep arguing that you have a right to garden or paint.... and by the way we just declared it illegal for you to hang your laundry out to dry and if you attempt to keep your pants or shirts or brand new tennis shoes I ll happily arrest you and let you spend the night in jail). Openly saying from the beginning they were discrinating against me and their destruction in front of me twice.....once with threat of guns and handcuffs as well as the declaration that it is illegal for me to paint anything outside and the destruction of multiple 10s of thousands of dollars of new mostly unopened paints and brushes as well as artwork......even purposely destroying a large beautiful expensive old one of a kind work of religiously significant native American artwork I had outside 20 feet from my front door where I saw it and was happy to see it every day and where mistakenly thought it was safe since it was too big and heavy and far from front sidewalk to believe anyone would steal it...even a black manger/nativity scene I inherited when a friend and coworker died and I liked as art with the ceramic figures I had outside on a picnic table (a few of the ceramic figures survived because they were in my gardens and they didn't see them as they tore out my plants and garden trellises and fence and fenceposts though they did destroy
several figures and a red stegosaurus that went perfectly with the now destroyed beautiful black manger itself....the city literally twice destroyed what they knew was religious art....and so much more....) I have to accept the unwanted fact that I feel I was given the choice to either die homeless cold and hungry or fight back by becoming internationally known rich and infamous American dissident city declared Inferior subhuman lowlife degenerate artist. It's one thing to accept being poor....another thing to accept going homeless after so many decades of hard work at American style poverty wages. Funny how many people with
college degrees ....government entity employees especially view millions of workers in the private sector who work far more hours every year then they do as lazy and stupid and deserve to be poor since they are "lazy" even though they work more hours doing work the college educated don't wanta do. A week or so ago I became overwhelmed by the conflict between my desire to be anonymous and my desire to become financially successful while pursuing criminal and civil charges. I have to accept that my paints and brushes and almost all my art and supplies were destroyed and therefore I need to move for now into photography some entirely for fun and sales and some as protest or political art. This dilemma was brought up clearly recently when someone asked "who is Mr D B Bird? " and I immediately froze and took a long real world break to figure out once and for....how do I begin to answer that when my previous goal was to be left alone so to sum up my new goal is to become rich and infamous American dissident artist Mr Dodo B Bird BECOME RICH AND INFAMOUS AMERICAN DISSIDENT ARTIST MR DODO B BIRD....change the world CHANGE THE WORLD...end all war on the planet END ALL WAR ON THE PLANET.....end all the violence on the planet END ALL THE VIOLENCE ON THE PLANET.......end all the poverty on the planet END ALL THE POVERTY ON THE PLANET.....and stop the mass extinction event we have created and are just entering into STOP THE MASS EXTINCTION. ......I am leaving my jaded cynical nobody cares what I think about anything anyway ways just leave me alone ways behind.......maybe I'm overly optimistic today but I think I should be able to accomplish that by December 31 2024. Thanks for encouraging me to finish thinking thru my plans. Happy new year. I MEAN NOW THAT I HAVE A PLAN OF ACTION HOW HARD CAN THAT BE? RIGHT?
