Thank you for the votes of my "Red Frosty Autumn Leaf - Vertical" by Patti Deters. This close-up of a red autumn leaf shows the beautiful and delicate hoar frost that has crystalized on each and every vein and crevice. Hoarfrost can occur on cold, still nights when water vapor in the air creates ice crystals on vegetation that are cooler than the air. Not just a winter phenomenon, it can happen in late autumn or very early spring if weather conditions are right. If you like outdoor nature photography, please see more plants, macro, and other flora images at patti-deters.pixels.com.

Thank you for the votes of my "Snowy Owl #3" by Patti Deters. This white Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus) was sitting on the shoulder of the road for a long time, then finally flew - very close to the ground and I could see the talons, feathers, yellow eyes, and brown markings clearly. The photograph of the owl was taken in Minnesota near the town of Vermillion during an irruption year. You can see all the snow - and it was really cold that day! If you like outdoor nature artwork, please see more birds and other wildlife images at patti-deters.pixels.com.

Trees are not just green
Yes, trees are definitely not just green! This is a painting of a scenic purple Japanese maple tree.
This tree is a real star and with its brightly colored leaves it's highly desired as a focal point in landscaping.
Thanks to the striking and unusual foliage, this artwork would be a great gift for someone who loves gardening!
Thank you!

My artwork A DREAMY KAPOK TREE tied for third place in the Your garden FAA contest (12/12/22) Thank you so very much!
https://fineartamerica.com/contests/-your-garden.html?tab=leaderboard
https://lucia-waterson.pixels.com/featured/a-dreamy-kapok-tree-lucia-waterson.html
A dreamy Kapok tree
Painting of a beautiful, dreamy Kapok tree. This gigantic tree is found in the Amazon rainforest and it is very important for the ecosystem, because it provides food and shelter to many animals, including birds such as toucans and scarlet macaw.
Flowering occurs when the tree is leafless and although it doesn't bloom every year, when it does, it produces something like 4.000 fruits measuring up to 15 cm long.
Because of its height, it helps animals to get to the sunlight. Sunlight is good for us, too. Among the many benefits, it makes us happy and receiving this painting as a gift will also make anyone loving the beauty of nature happy :)
Thank you!

Thrilled to have won Best of Show in the Northern Lights Gallery Abstract Contest for December.
This is a digital graphic art piece created from my original photograph of iris flowers that were blooming together in a garden. I processed the photograph with a colorful and bright blue flowing technique which gave an abstract style of contours and sculpting of the flower forms. Other subtle colors within the piece gives a sense of depth to this image.

“WINTER IN THE APPALACHIANS”
Winter in the Appalachian Mountains is a special time of year. While it’s cold and snowing outside, the winter scenes like this are gorgeous! But there’s always a fire inside. Oftentimes, you’ll find me snuggled up with a good book, a warm blanket and a hot bowl of beef stew... And don’t forget the hot chocolate! Smiles.
