"Yellow 10," today the last remaining Focke Wulf Fw 190 D-13, sits in the grass at the RAF base at Flensburg, Germany in May 1945. This "Dora" entered service in March 1945 and served for a few weeks with Jagdgeschwader 26. After the war, the fighter was used for a brief period in dissimilar air combat trials against British machines. Today the plane is part of the amazing Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field in Washington state.

Wade Meyers spent his early years at Fort Bragg, North Carolina before his family moved to Bossier City, La. when he was ten years old. Fulfilling a dream, Wade soloed a Cessna 150 at age 17 and went on to earn his Commercial and Flight Instructor pilot certificates. After high school, he earned a B.A. in History from Louisiana State University in Shreveport while serving in the US Air Force Reserve at Barksdale Air Force Base. With marriage came a move to the beautiful Birmingham, Alabama area. Diving in head first, Wade quit his job at an aviation museum in 2003 and began to work full-time as an aviation artist.
