The Holy Family represents love and unity within a family. People often ask me how I got started painting icons, and I tell them, "Well, it found me!" I took my first icon class in 2003 and my instructor asked me if I had ever painted one of these before. When I told him,"no" he said, "Well, I don't normally say this to my students, but I think you have something here." I didn't really know what he meant by that at the time but, continued to study under various Master's including several Russian Iconographers. Later, I was asked by some of my friends if I'd be willing to teach them how to paint an icon. The rest is history.
