Natural sunset glow at the Bass Harbor Lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1858 overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Bass Harbor Head Light is a lighthouse located within Acadia National Park in the southwest portion of Mount Desert Island, Maine, United States. It is located very close to the Ship Harbor trail and is built on top of a rocky cliff. It is one of the most famous landmarks of the park, and is the most iconic and photographed lighthouse in all of Maine.
