I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

The process Im using is somewhat novel & cutting-edge, with digital technology replacing not only the darkroom, but the camera as well. Im creating my images with a flatbed scanner, which offers interesting opportunities. Unlike a traditional camera, a flatbed scanner captures an image by slowly moving both the light and the lens across the subjectessentially lighting and photographing it from multiple angles in one long exposure.
