In the first year of the Pandemic, on November, 28, 2020, I was at home at 10 in the evening feeling down, and I thought of just going to sleep and escaping. But instead I doodled in my sketchbook this drawingt of flowing lines and shapes and patterns-- and then added one eye on the left and some teeth. I thought it looked very weird and different-- but I kind of liked it! It was different than any drawing I had ever done before....

As a child Frank Dixon loved to read fairy tales. At age 7 he started writing his own stories and drawing pictures to go with them. His whole life he has loved creating magical fantasy paintings. Some of his most memorable images are of his imaginary Land of Treetch. Treetch are walking, talking tree creatures. Dixon studied art and illustration at Art Center College of Design and received his MFA in fine arts from California State University at Los Angeles.
