I was driving on Pallet Creek Road looking for something to paint. The mid afternoon sun struck gold on the Cottonwoods growing along the Creek below. Joshua Trees are fun to paint, all gawky and scruffy. They look like they live in the desert, structured to survive. Valyermo, CA November 2013
