These hawk feathers were given to me by a friend who recently collected them on a spiritual journey to Peru. I wanted to honor this beautiful gift by putting the feathers into this painting. Heart Of A Hawk is from the 'Spirit of the Wild - Birds Of Prey collection of art by Carol Cavalaris.

I live in the middle of a forest in the high country of Colorado. It is the wild beauty of my surroundings that inspires my mixed medium paintings of wildlife and nature. I grew up in Southern California and have been creating since childhood, always drawing, painting or making something. I have enjoyed many creative adventures, including sculpting, stained glass art, being a display artist, an interior designer, a graphic artist, a copywriter, a songwriter, a novelist, and a creative director.
