Palouse Falls in Washington State is one of those treasured areas that has not been changed too much through time – there are no gift shops, food kiosks, or (too many) interpretive signs, and from various perspectives, one can see the falls in their full beauty and form.

This is one of these places that, if you arrive on a day when there aren’t a lot of tourists, and you visually block out the manicured lawn and picnic tables, you drink in the vista, and imagine what it was like many years ago, when the Indians of the area lived and walked the region.

Beholding Palouse Falls, the artwork, invites the viewer to step into this time and place, to settle for a moment before the falls and simply look. The air is filled with the sound of water cascading over the cliff; there is mist in the atmosphere from the spray; and it’s cool enough that a blanket feels warm and comforting.
