Island Beach State Park - Welcome to the Jersey Shore!
The crystal clear aqua sea spilling onto the sands at IBSP. This stunning photograph is part of Colleen Kammerer's "Summer Dreams" series. Documenting New Jersey's most famous beaches. The series was inspired by carefree summer days at the Jersey Shore.

Island Beach State Park is a narrow barrier island stretching for 10 miles between the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay.It offers miles of sand dunes and white sandy beaches.

Island Beach is one of New Jersey's last significant remnants of a barrier island ecosystem. It is one of the few remaining undeveloped barrier beaches on the north Atlantic coast. With over 3,000 acres and 10 miles of coastal dunes, it remains "almost" untouched since Henry Hudson first described New Jersey's coast from the ship, the Half Moon, in 1609.
