Edgy Art Approved Image Thread

Ask and you shall receive! Edge with a MOOD. I want ONLY moody edge.

This means don't post art just because you think it's edgy. You have to convey a mood to and in your audience. It doesn't have to be dark or rainy or sad but humor is not really moody (but joy is... just make it REALLY joyful). If you don't have anything that conveys mood this is a good time to learn how to do it. Make me FEEL it!

@Susan, I think I'm bad at this whole art/emotions thing, and would like to learn, as you mention in the introduction. What moods are you intending to convey with your images? Maybe other artists could add that to their posts. Thanks!

Kerry, I'm not sure if you mean in my art personally or in the thread. My moodier art tends to convey a more melancholy mood but you can depict any mood in the thread... sadness, wistfullness, fear, even extreme joy. When you look at something that moves you to feel what is being depicted, you've nailed it.

For example, a color photo of the famous LOVE sculpture in Philadelphia is not going to be moody. A black and white photo of the famous LOVE sculpture with a couple arguing in front of it yelling at each other gives you mood. And paradox... BONUS! Or a shoulder-up portrait of a teenage girl with pink hair smiling nicely for the camera... not moody. Have her throw back her head laughing so hard her mouth is wide open and with her eyes all squinty and a tear on her cheek from laughing so hard... mood! Watch the thread and I bet you'll get the idea soon enough ;)

L.A., I'm not really gettin' mood in what you're posting. Have something that really moved YOU? What moves you will move other peeps too. Well, at least that's what I tell myself.

OK, if not on your wavelength. Will delete. No problem

Aw, don't delete them! Why don't you try making something moody? Working outside your comfort zone is always a good thing in the art world.
