Jean-Léon Gérôme (1824–1904) was a prominent French Academic painter and sculptor, renowned for his highly detailed and realistic depictions of historical, mythological, and Orientalist themes. A master of Academicism, Gérôme's work blended classical precision with vibrant storytelling, often portraying ancient Roman and Greek scenes, gladiators, and exotic Eastern settings.
