The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Charles Sheeler was one of the early adopters of modernism in American art in the early 1900s, he's recognized for his paintings and drawings focused heavily on machinery, architecture and technology and for his photography as well. He was one of the leading artist of the first really American art style called precisionism.
