Bucket list, dreams, and goals are things compiled, shared and sought after. Some feel impossible. I first visited Zion National Park in 2003, knowing little about the park. It was gorgeous, yet we really saw just a portion of what the park had to offer. I fell in love with the Southwest on that trip and made several oil pastels off photos I had taken.
About a year ago, knowing we’d be in Colorado for a few weeks, I started to explore and see if we could take on some vacation days and visit a few National Parks in Utah. I came across many blogs on Pinterest of must-see hikes at the different parks. For Zion, it seemed the must do hike was Angel’s Landing. Reading about it, seeing photos and videos made my stomach churn, and I was also concerned about the safety of myself and our kids. I really wanted to see the views from the top but didn’t want to do the hike that boasted thousand foot drop-offs on both sides.
