Description
Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop is a bar located on the corner of Bourbon Street and St. Philip Street. The building, built sometime before 1772, is one of the older surviving structures in New Orleans. According to legend, the pirate Jean Lafitte once owned the building and is where he plotted his illegal seizures and the sale of contraband. Today it's a gathering place for locals and visitors alike and is purported to be one of the more haunted bars in the French Quarter.
