This is a beautiful painting! The artist knows my husband and we were so excited to bring one of her pieces of art into our home! It's beyond what we expected! It is part of the background when I do virtual meetings (which I am in all day long) and I get so many compliments on how beautiful my "virtual backdrop is". When I tell people that it's my actual office, they always comment on the art!

Love this painting and so many compliments as it's in a treatment room where my husband is a Chiropractor. His patients love it!

The Lion And Lamb painting is absolutely beautiful and very anointed. It speaks such peace to me. We have been furnishing a missionary apartment and as soon as I saw this picture I knew it was the one! I know it will minister to each missionary that stays in our apartment just like it ministers to me.

She is very like my sweet Emma and I bought it in memory of her. Emma's room is now my office but the painting makes clear that it is still, first and foremost, kitty space. This piece comforts my heart every day. Emma has been gone for a year and I miss her incredibly.
Artist's Description
Horseshoe Bend is horseshoe-shaped turn in the Colorado River near the town of Page in Arizona. The river originates in the Rocky Mountains and feeds Lake Mead before crossing into Mexico and finally emptying into the Gulf of California.
Over the millions of years that the river has been flowing, it has dramatically carved away the rock, and provided this convenient, stunning, and somewhat frightening viewpoint.
To give the photo a sense of scale, the drop from the viewpoint to the river is claimed to be 1,000 feet. By comparison, the tallest building in Vancouver is 659 feet tall. The small white speck that can be seen on the river at the bottom of the photo is a boat (there's also a second boat at about the 2:00 position if you imagine the loop as a clock).
This was an extremely hot and dry day, at 41C or 106F. There are no guard rails at the viewpoint, just the cliff edge. In order to get this photo, I had to mount the camera to my tripod,...
About Alexis Birkill
Born in the UK, I moved to Vancouver, BC in 2011. My career in photography has grown from a long-held passion for capturing the beauty of the world, aided on the technical side by my background as a software developer. I specialise in fine art photography of landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes in and around the Pacific Northwest, with work exhibited internationally. Many of my photographs feature the beautiful city of Vancouver, but as well as capturing its iconic cityscapes, I can often be found exploring the BC and Washington coastline for new photographic opportunities, as well as developing my portfolio of night sky photographs featuring the Milky Way and the Aurora Borealis.
