A Siamese cat and zen buddhist monk sit together in contemplation beneath a tree. The full moon shines in an indigo sky, illuminating the autumn colors of the tree. The palette is in subtle shades of blue and orange. This visionary landscape is part of the Dreamscapes series, which combines my original paintings with digital enhancements. The grunge texture and imperfections give the piece an ancient, dreamy feel.

I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
