On Monday, April 8th, I set the shot up in my front yard using a Canon EOS 90D/10-18mm lens on a tripod, and waited for the “moment” to arrive. I had created the pond specifically for interesting photo opportunities with the 1951 Hudson, one of my favorite subjects and the "star" of my book, "Abandoned Vehicles of New Hampshire: Rust In Peace.". I then blended two shots together - a very underexposed sky, and a slightly overexposed foreground. I didn’t have a filter, so the moon above/below was blown out. Interestingly, the water served as a very dark polarizing filter clearly showing the moon make it’s way across the sun in the reflection. This served as a guide when I later added the moon into the edited image. I creatively edited it in PS, also using a touch of HDR to bring out shadow details.
