Carolyn Koup grew up in Lockport, New York, a small town located along the banks of the Erie Canal. She started painting after retiring from practicing dental hygiene for thirty years. She and her husband Jeff built their dream home in 1990 along the Lake Michigan shore. Currently she enjoys working in watercolor, pen and ink, and pencil. She draws her inspiration from the beautiful scenery in West Michigan. She most enjoys painting boats, antique cars, motorcycles and historic buildings. She also enjoys painting flowers and birds.
