There are approximately 456 prophesies in the Old Testament which speak directly of one person, all of them were fulfilled by that one person. The 53rd chapter of Isaiah speaks very vividly of the life, suffering and death of Jesus and the ultimate fulfillment of his work on the cross. Verses 4-7 of Isaiah chapter 53 are the inspiration for this painting.

ARTIST STATEMENT: My goal as a portrait artist has been to show something deeper than just a human or animal likeness but to reveal life, living, and breathing even thinking. To capture life so vivid that you expect the head to turn, eyes to blink or the hand to gesture. History: Art has been my life for as far back as I can remember. I have no formal art education. Immediately after high school (1972) I was offered a job as illustrator and designer with a small studio (ART Enterprise), which I was overjoyed to land.
