A road less traveled leads to a destination of adventure.

After an Autumn Rain, the artwork, invites the viewer to embark on such an adventure, taking a winding, rustic road in the country that wends its way through and around fields, meadows, trees, and bushes.

One does not travel quickly on such a road – whether one is in a vehicle or walking on foot – but the point is not to move quickly, because the destination isn’t the object. After an Autumn Rain takes the viewer into a place of quiet and peace, of tranquility and thought, of beauty and country charm.

Because it has just rained, the surface of the road is dark and wet, and the leaves clinging to the trees – though still bright orange and red and crimson and gold – are dampened by the weather, and ready to drop from the branches onto the ground below. I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color.
